GANDHI
Whenever you are confronted with an opponent. Conquer him with love.
I think that this quote means that when someone you don't like or someone who you don't get along confronts you about something, instead of yelling, arguing or fighting with that person, you should treat them as if they are one of your love ones. I found this quote interesting because I think that if everyone confronts an oppenent with love it would stop a lot og hatred going on in the world.
I think this quote relates to India's independence because Gandhi insisted on using non-violent acts to gain independence and peace. By conquering their oppenents with love and non-violent acts instead of fighting they gained their independence, just not the independence that Gandhi wanted.
If the people of today's world used love instead of anger, and fighting than today's world would be a lot better and there wouldn't be half as much hatred in the world.
