Stress and Relaxation
Most people experiece stress on a day to day basis. Stress is caused when psychological tension is created by an outside influence called a stressor, which can be either internal or external. If stress is experienced for a prolonged period of time, it can have catasrophic consequences on the sufferer.
Relaxation is the most effective method of cotroling stress. Relaxation is an important process because it combats issues such as muscle tensaion and mental tension produced by intense alertness.

Arousal is the level of alertness that is maintained during the day. When we do activities like sleeping, then you require a low level of alertness. If you are participating in activities such as sports, a higher level of alertness is required. Conditions accociated with prolonged arousal includes sleep disorders, anxiety disorders and issues with concentration.
