THE SIXTIES (1960-1969)
In the first half of the 60s, for women's fashion, the wide skirts of the 50s had disappeared, but the look was very formal too. the young girls wore like an older woman, an adult amd glamorous look. The young man wore a smart suit with narrow lapels and tapered trousers. It was called the Mod gear.
The miniskirt was the most important fashion trend of the sixties. Mary Quant invented it, she only put the typical long skirt 7 to 8 inches above the knee. It became very popular in the middle of the 60s. Most women took several years to accept this new trend. After this, women wore tights or panty-hose. A new trend of wearing male clothes started.
