Transcendentalist Themes Sara Toomey
Those during this period had a deep love for nature. They revered t above all else and thought they could learn much from it. Their religion and way of life centered around nature's beauty. Their literature also mirrored this reverence.
Transcendentalists believed that everyone had an inner light and with this was the key to salvation. It relied on the individual to achieve this greatness and for this reason they didn't see the need to follow laws.
Transcendentalists believed that through nature, they had a direct link to God. This inspired the relighious beliefs of Deism and other protestant movements.
