What was happening in Judges was that people were doing what they wanted. They didn't trust God, have a relationship with Him, and completely ignored His law. This book took place after they conquered Canaan.. Judges gets its name because the judges were the ones that expelled people from the land that they were going to conquer, and also ruled over the people. Judges were chosen from God. The cycle that happens over and over again is below.
Famous People: Deborah, Samson, and Gideon.
Judges 2:18-19 In these two verses we find the pattern for the entire book – a pattern of sin, bondage and repentance that would last for nearly 350 years (around 1380 to 1050 BC).
Purpose: To carry the history of Israel
