foreshadowing
when the scarlet ibis dies you can infer that something bad will happen to Doodle. That seem's like foreshadwoing to me.
To me i think people put forshadowing in the books only to make you read more of the book. It is intresting to keep reading after you think you now whats going on. Thats why i think they put foreshadowing in the books Saquan Mann
