The show revolves around the adventures of the family of Peter Griffin, a bumbling, but well-intentioned, blue-collar worker.
Peter frequently gets drunk with his neighbors Cleveland, Joe, and Quagmire at "The Drunken Clam", Quahog's local tavern,[15] and is a stereotypical blue-collar worker. He has the mind of a child, basically, and a source of big laughs is when he does not realize he's doing something inappropriate.
Stewie is a one-year-old with a very sophisticated psyche. He reached his first birthday in the season 1 episode "Chitty Chitty Death Bang", and has remained the same age ever since and wants to kill lois
Brian has lived with the Griffin family since Peter picked him up as a stray. Peter is his best friend, despite Brian's superior intelligence. Seth MacFarlane has once described Brian as "a dog who has a wit as dry as the martinis he drinks."[25] Brian is often the voice of reason in the family, frequently reminding Peter how stupid or corrupt his ideas are. Brian has a cultured background; he loves opera and jazz, and is vocally talented, being able to sing all four parts to a barbershop quartet simultaneously.[26] He attended Brown University, and is an avid writer. Brian also has aspirations as a novelist, and fleeting mentions of his novel are a running gag on the show.[27][28] Despite the fact that he is a dog, Brian is bestial and dates human women regularly. His past loves have included bulimic, stereotyped-blonde Jillian Russell (portrayed by Drew Barrymore), Lauren Conrad, real-life star of the reality show The Hills, and Tracy Flannigan, the mother of his illegitimate son, Dylan.
Meg is a disturbed and self-conscious teenage girl. Her self-consciousness causes her to desperately try to be part of the cool crowd, but this only results in her getting coldly rebuffed by Connie D'Amico[2], a selfish, egocentric and irresponsible teenage girl. She is also usually at the bottom of the family's pecking order and the butt of Peter's jokes due to her homeliness, tendency toward social awkwardness and lack of popularity. However, another student named Neil Goldman is attracted to her.[3] She has been so self-conscious about herself that she engaged in dangerous sexual behavior just for attention.
lois is the mother of the house. Lois's morals can seem questionable at times.
