-the depth range from surface to 200 meters. -light reaches to the bottem of this zone. - the temp. varies do to how much sun is their. - foods for organisms is this zone include plants and algae. -animals include, snails, frogs, and turtles. -plants, algae is one of the only plants found is this zone because of the low tied.
sublittoral zone
-the depth range is 150 mto 200 meters. -light i s visable in most areas. -it is located on the contintal shelf. -this zone conains an abundance of nutrince. some animals found in this zone include sponges , kelpfish, and sea urchins. plants include red algea, hudsen plants, and
Epipelagic
-the depth range is surface to 200 meters. - called the sunlight zone because this is where most light is visable. - wide range of temp do to amount of light. - animals include sharks, seals, and Jellyfish. -plants here include algae, phytoplankton., and seaweeds.
mesopelagic.
-depth range of 200 meters to 1000 meters. -its zone is called the twilight zone because light is only visible to a certian depth so it is dimmer. -located on the continentel shelf. -many strange creatures are found here. creatures of this zone include, the slender lantern fish, prickely shark, and giant squid. their are no plants in this zone to have plants because plants need ligh tto preform photosynthisis.
Bathypelagic
-depth range is from 1000 meters. it is called the midnight zone because their is no light visible in this sone. - most animals in this zone are black and red and some dont even have eyes. the presser at this level is 5850 pounds per squar inch. animals of this zone include vampire squid, sperm whales, and snake dragon fish. the lack of sun makes plants unable to grow.
Abyssopelagic Zone
-the depth range is 4000 meters to 6000 meters. this zone is also called the abyss which means no bottem. -the temp. in this zone is near freezing. - the presser at this depth is bone crushing so only invertebrates can live here. - animals of this zone include, basket stars, tiny squid and giant isopod. -no plants can grow here do to lack of light.
Hadalpelagic Zone
-the depth range is from 6000 meters to the bottem of the ocean. - the preesure is 8 tons per squar inch. - this zone is mostly the deep trenches in the ocean. -animals at this depth include star fish, tube worms, and giant isopods. -no plants can live in this zone because their is no light.
