Ocean Zones
Littoral Zone
Littoral Zone The location of the Littoral zone is where the land meets the sea. The Littoral zone is not measured in depth instead they say shallow water. The tempature ranges from 50-80 degreese in F. When the tides come in they cause change in the tempature and changes the wave speed. When the wave speed is changed the waves become more harsh. The Littoral zone is were the tides happen. This zone has the second most amount of animals living in this zone.
Sublittoral Zone The location of the Sublittoral zone is in the shallow waters. The Sublittoral zone is two hundred meters deep is where it starts. The tempature ranges from 40-90 degreese in F. The Sublittoral zone has an abundance of sunlight. It also has a stable enviorment and has a large amount of nutrients. With the amount of sunlight it also has some effects. The light intensity changes a lot because of the amount of sun. The animals that live in this zone includes perwinkles and kelpfish. Sponges are organisms without any organs.

Epipelagic The location of the Epipelagic zone is the top layer of the pelagic zone. The epipelagic zone is about two hundred meters. The tempature ranges from 27-104 degreese in F. The Epipelagic zone has warm temperatures and the sulight goes down to six hundred feet. The animals that live are a sea turtle, sting ray, and a sea lion. Plants seaweed, kelp, sponges.

Haddelpelagic The deepest zone in the ocean. It six thousand meters down to the ocean basin. The temperature is below freezing. Extremly high pressure and no light are characteristics of this zone. Animals are tube worms, fiddler crabs, shrimp. No plants.
Abysspelagic The second deepest layer of the ocean. It is four thousand to six thousand meter deep. The temerature ranges near freezing all year round. It' pitch black , and there are luminscent organisms. The word means no bottom. Animals that live in this zone are basket stars, tiny squids, and giant squids. No plants.
