David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson began collaborating together in the 1840s to create a series of over 3000 prints. But, after only 4 years of working together their partership was cut short by the death of Adamson in 1848. During this time, the first electrical telegraph was sent by Samuel Morse. Hong Kong became a part of Britain (until 1997), and the Mexican-American war was being faught for control over Texas. The Revolution of 1848 in Europe, and the Communist Manisfesto was written.
