("Butterfly's Dust" is the poison in "Poison Study" by Maria V. Snyder. It just suited what I needed for this poem)
He comes to me at night My beautiful butterfly His wings the color of espresso His eyes of pale blue and green The words thick and sweet like honey That he thinks I'm beautiful The poisonous dust he gently covers me in Lust with the delusion he could ever just be mine That he could love me I must resist. Why did he come back once I finally quit? I thought I wouldn't make it with out him But I did. So why is it becoming harder and harder to resist? It hurts me every time you come back And yet you still come back Even when I tell you to go away... Why do you still come back When I mean nothing to you? Just leave me alone My Butterfly's Dust.
The Present( 12/2010).
(C) SelbyStarr.
