Plot
A Fractured Shard is about four boys at the Devon School in London. Gene, the narraitor of this tale, attempts to push a best friend, Finny, off a tree, but a fire bomb hits near the tee and pushes Finny off for him, and breaking Finny's left leg.. Now Gene must live with the guilt of almost hurting his friend, while dealing with his other two friends Leper, who goes crazy after joining the armed forces of England, and Brinker, a good but pushy friend.
