This habit It controls me It leaves it’s mark Forever etched into my skin…
Bad habit
This blade Forever tempts me It catches my eye As it shines menacingly in the light
My hand Moves ever closer to that blade My heart tells it no But it hears not those desperate pleas
My arm Yearns for the feeling That sharp, yet pleasant pain As that blade slices my skin
My mind Tells me more, more, more My heart tells me To stop before I go too far
My friends Tell me stop, no more But my body Does not listen
My arm Feels that sharp pain As it is swiftly sliced open And the blood slowly seeps out
My mind Registers that feeling Oh-so-nice, yet so wrong But I do not care
My friends Plead for me to stop But I cannot For this habit controls me
This blade Drips blood upon the counter As my arm lies cut and bleeding But it feels sooo good
My body Has overcome this horrible urge To inflict such harm upon myself Just to cope with things
This habit Which used to control me No longer does As I have overcome the urge
In case you are wondering, yes, I am a former cutter. I overcame my terrible habit, and now I am clean. But these urges still remain. It becomes more and more difficult with each passing day to restrain myself from picking up that blade and going crazy with it. If you are thinking about trying this, please don’t. Take it from a former cutter- you’ll regret it. Not only does it hurt you, but it also hurts those around you. Keep that in mind… it’s something that I had to learn.

yes, it is. that's how i felt everytime i had the urge. it can be quite overwhelming...
