I know when to leave And I know when to remain I know when to dress up And I know when to look plain I know when to hug you And when to simply smile I know when you need a second And when you need awhile
I know when silence is all that’s needed And I understand when quiet is too restricting I know when things need to be left alone And when they are begging to be fixed I can’t say that it’s a talent Or that it requires any real skill All it needs is an urge to love And to be able to love at will
I know how you are, I know how you aren’t I know when I shouldn’t And I know when I can’t Sometimes you’re quiet Sometimes you’re anything but Sometimes you realise when you should pry And when to keep the door shut
I realise when you need space, And when all you need is me I get when you have secrets And I get when you hand me the key I know when to watch and listen And I know when to scream I know when reality’s a possibility And I know when to dream
Love At Will
By Sam Beckwith
The reason why I chooses this poem is because my sister wrote it and I love the way she wrote this poem. To be able to get the message across and write it in a rhyming way but so easy to read is amazing. I didn’t choose this poem because it had a meaning for me but because it just was so perfect but easy to see why some one would write this poem
End Rhyme - The second and Fourth line always rhyme Repetition - A lot of lines start with I know
