Dear John
Page 107-“Even now, I’m still not sure how it happened. One instant we were talking, and in the next she leaned toward me. For a second, I wonder whether kissing her would break the spell we both were under, but it was too late to stop. And when her lips met mine, I knew that I could live to be a hundred and visit every country in the world, but nothing would ever compare to that single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams and knew that my love would last forever.” It was love at first site and he couldn’t stop thinking about her. He thought about her all the time even though he only new her for a very short time a couple days. He liked everything he knew about her. They were so close, even though they did not see each other. It’s amazing that someone can be on your mind and in your heart being miles away. What he did for her to help her with her husband at the end of the book showed his true love for her, he knew that she needed help and even though she didn’t wait for him to marry; he knew that he had to put his own thoughts aside…… Page 271 – “I closed my eyes, thinking of Savannah and Tim and hoping somehow that my dad would forgive me for what I was about to do. “Yes,” I said to the coin dealer, “actually there is. I want to sell my dad’s coin collection, and I need the money as quickly as you can get it to me.” He gave up something that him and his dad treasured all his life. His dad would search all over to find that special coin so that someday his son would have them all, to think he sold them to help the girl of his dreams that he loved so very much that was married to someone else and to give them up so she could afford medical care to help him, was incrediable gift of love, even when you don’t get anything in return.
