Most people lived on a manor, which consisted of the castle, the church, the village, and the surrounding farm land.
POSITIVES: -Vassals recieved land in return for fighting. - They had feudal obligations; Lords protected vassal'sfamily. -The vassals respected their lords and gave them protection. -Vassals have political authority. NEGATIVES: - serfs had no freedom and were bound to land by contract with nobles. -Freemen were skilled workers who had to pay rent. -You had to start training for knighthood at age 7.
