Bolivia is a South American country surrounded by Brazil on the nothern end, Paraguy & Argentina on the southern & Chile & Peru on the west. The country gets its name from Simon Bolivar. Sucre was the capital until replaced in 1898 by La Paz. Bolivia was once known & referred to as " Upper Peru ". Bolivia became a republic August 6, 1825.
Facts about Boliva : - its largest city is Santa Cruz de Sierra. - its official languages are Spanish, Quechua & Aymara. - its current presidennt is Evo Morales. - Vice President ; Alvaro Garcia. - the western part of Bolivia is surrounded by two chains of the Andes, which is a plateau, the Altiplano. - Almost half of the poulation lives on the platau. - the Bolivian flag is red, yellow & green. - Lake Titcaca is the highest body of water in the wold. - Bolivia is famous for its mineral wealh. - Bolivia's mostly indian population became slaves after the 16th century.
