Early Life -Born in Hardin County, Kentucy -Little education, but self educated mostly - Married Marry Todd 1842 -4 children, 3 died -After that, Lincoln had clinical depression -Served as Captain for Illinois during Black Hawk War -Lawyer -Opposed Slavery
Emancipation Proclamation -Two Executive Orders during the Civil War -First was on Sept. 22, 1862 that said that freedom of all slaves of Confederate States of America -Second Order on Jan. 1, 1863 said ten states that would have to free their slaves. -20,000 slaves were freed
Gettysburg Adress -Nov. 19, 1863 -Speech dedicated to Union Soliders who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg -Ab Lincoln -''The best Speech in American history''
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1869 in Ford's Theatre. They were attending a play in a state box on the balcony. Booth got away, but was then captured and killed. Abraham was treated by a doctor, but after being in a coma for nine hours he died.
