Ancient Egyptian Afterlife
Mummification is the process of embalming in which was practiced by the Ancient Egyptians.
In the Old Kingdom mummification was only available to kings. Then in the New Kingdom it was available to everyone.
The Ancient Egyptians believed in life after death. Kings were believe to become gods in the afterlife. While on earth kings were believed to represent the god Horus. In the beginning of time, Horus was the ruler and was the perfect king of Egypt. He passed down is kingship to the first human ruler and was passed down from generation to generation.

Cats and other animals also came into play with the mummification process.
The process of mummification is not only a technical process but is a ritual one as well.
The scribes job was to oversee the cutting of the body. The cutter had the role of making the incision. The embalmer was a group of priest who prepared the body by removing all internal organs.
