Manga's History --------------------------- Manga may have come from scrolls that where from the 12th century, but, if these scrolls are actually manga is still argued over. Other people say it origins closer to the 18th century. Manga is strongly shaped by United States cultural influences, including U.S. comics brought to Japan and by images and themes from U.S. television, film, and cartoons, like Disney. Since the 1950s, manga has steadly become a major part of the japanese publishing industry.
How to Read Manga ---------------------------- You read manga from right to left, back to front. That is because you read Japanese that way, most manga in English is just translated from its original language. Usually manga books have a page way in the back that says ''Stop! You are reading this the wrong way!''.

The genres includes a broad range of subjects like action-adventure, romance, comedy, science fiction and fantasy. Since World War II, manga has become increasingly popular worldwide. Manga are typically printed in black-and-white, although there are some full-color manga.
