Native Americans once owned Pennsylvania. There were two main groups, the Iroquois and the Algonquins. They tought us how to plant and hunt to survive. The Native Americans in PA were relativly similar the only main difference was the language they spoke. The Indians lived throughout PA. The Algonquian tribes live all over PA, but the Iroquis tribe lived in the north including by Lake Erie. They also lived in cenral eastern PA.

These are the types of houses that the indians had lived in. They are the wigwam, the longhouse, and they had also made sweat houses.
William Penn was very kind and respected them. He even payed the Indians for the land he got from the King.
