Being a nerd has nothing to do with school. It only means you have self will. What does the word, ''nerd'', mean, any way? Being smart? Being smart about what? It's being smart with who you hang out with. I am a nerd. But, even though I get good grades in school, it has nothing to do with that. I have been told I should be a ''kool'' kid. TWICE. It rejected it. Persistently the second time. I do not want to be ''kool''. What does the word, ''kool'', mean, any way? You go to every party? You don't listen to your parents? You want to grow up faster? It all depends on who you hang out with. I hang out with the ''kool'' kids a lot. But, does that mean I am a ''kool'' kid? No. It's a choice. A very personal choice. I can hang out with those kids, because it's fun. But I will not become a ''bad'' kid. That is where the line is drawn. I can hang with ''kool'' kids, as long as I know when enough is enough. And I do. That is the line I will NOT cross. I will not be a follower, I will be a leader. And I will take the path less traveled by. Because, I will go farther in life then the followers will. Because, I have ownership of my own life. I know when I have had enough. But, unfortunitly, some people want to be a follwer, because it is easier. All my life, I have been teased and taunted. And i will still be. But I learn to live with it. The only reason I am teased and taunted, is because, the people that do those things, will never go as far as me. Being a nerd has nothing to do with being able to do math. Lots of my friends are smart, but they are not nerds. They will never be. They think it's kool now, to be ''kool'', but, later in life, they will look back on what they did, and realize, they made a big mistake, like everyone does. We have all made mistakes by the time we die. Some worse than others. And, even still, some people tease me. But, I don't care. They don't understand the meaning of ''nerd''. So they never will. They only will, when they have to be put in a serious situation, and realize, they don't know how to get out. And I feel sorry for those people. Who didn't get the time to learn about others. Take time to get to know everyone you meet. Even if you won't know that person forever. It is showing self will. I hope you learned something.
