THE TITANIC
There were over 2,000 people and only 20 lifeboats available. Even though each lifeboat could fit 59 people due to the pandemonium most boats left half empty. This resulted in more than half of the passengers dying.
Although lifeboat space were prioritized for women and children, it went in class order. Which is the reason why 63% of first class, mostly Americans, survived and only 25% of third class survived. Moreover, the males began to panic and barter themselves onto the lifeboats anyway.
Most passengers onboard were American, British, Irish, Swede, and Syrian. The ethnic groups that were least onboard were Dutch, JaThe highest percentage of survivors happened to be Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Swiss and French. The lowest percentage of survivors happened to be Bulgarian, Greek, Portuguese, Uruguayan, Mexican and Dutch.panese, Mexican, Australian, and Uruguayan.
In April 1912, which was when the Titanic was at sea, ice had been covering most of the waters which made in difficult for ships to travel. There were 395 icebergs spotted that year, which was a huge surprise to captain because there had been no such reports made during the previous years.
The Titanic is now at the bottom center of the ocean. Everything from its bow to the propellers were found.
