Mr. and Mrs. Bo Jo Jones
Bo Jo and July are getting used to their new life. It isn't perfect, but it is working...until July discovers she has lost her baby. Then things get bad.
July decides to move back home with her family, and Bo Jo gets to go to college and play football. Younger suggests that this is a punishment of sorts for engaging in premarital sex (55).
Bo and July do end up together by the end of Mr. and Mrs. Bo Jo Jones. Although the novel seems to end on a relatively happy note, the trials the two had to endure to get to their happy ending seem to be more important and made more explicit to the reader than any happily ever after.
