My friend and I were sitting on the bus today. We were on our way to school. The bus came to a stop at a light. We looked out our window and we saw a kid. He was barely older than us. He was in high school. My friend asked me why he wasn't off to school like we were. I was thinking the same thing. Then, we saw him sit down on his porch. He pulled out a cigarette and he started to smoke. His dad came to the door and closed the screen, then he slammed the door behind him. My friend said to me, 'Oh, that's why...' 'Oh, that's why. . .'
I wanted to tell that kid he was ruining his life. He is young and has the whole rest of his life to live. But, he made his choice. He was the one to choose. He was the one who made the mistake. Don't make that same mistake because trying it once can be the beginning to many more.
