HOW DOSE SOLAR ENERGY WORK? solar energy is collected by photovoltaic("photo-vol-tay-ick") which is partially made from silicone. They are installed in panels and put in a place that gets alot of direct sunlight. eg: a roof of a house. When the sun shines on the photovoltaic cells negatively charged neautrons come out of the silicone from each cell.
