Sitting on my front steps, I look so afraid of life, Trying to hide my side affects, That make nothing come out right. Now we're in the class room, I hear the school bell ring, I wonder should i ask you? Or would rejection sting...? If you were in my shoes, Then you would see, Not a girl with the blues, But the one i can be. Strong and independent, Standing on my feet, Let me be confident, In everyone I meet.
Lets rewind to that monday, In the old lunch room, I heard your best friend say, That you would be doomed. If you were to pick me, Over that other girl, In my dreams you say to me, Common baby lets give it a whirl. If you were in my shoes, It would be easier, To say what i choose, And not get hurt. I need to say whats on my mind, And also in my heart, If you don't see the signs, It will never start.
