''Black Power is giving power to people who have not had power to determine their destiny.''
The Symbol Black Panther was used because it was a powerful image. A powerful image is all they needed.
Robert George, or (Bobby) Seale was born on October 22 1936 in Dallas, Texas. He was an American civil rights activist, and co-founded the Black Panthers with Huey Newton in October 1966. Bobby Seale was one of the three children and his father was a carpenter, in the south. When he was 25, in 1962, Seale started going to Oakland City College, where he joined the Afro-American Association and met Huey for the first time. Seale and Newton were both very inspired by Malcolm X, a civil rights leader of the time, and Bobby, and Seale looked at a lot of the beliefs that Malcolm had, when they were putting together the Black Panthers.
