The Crusades A Crusader's point of view: March 8th, 1096 I embark on a long journey to fight in Jerusalem, to take it back from the Moslems, and claim victory from them. I travel from Pau to Jerusalem, a very long trip and under the blazing heat of the sun rising. And several days and nights passed with barely any sleep and lack of food and water. The war in Jerusalem is a war I cannot lose, it's a war I shall win with courage and without hesitation. Though, on this very long journey, I have my fears of failure, and death. Leaving my family behind. But if I die, I die victoriously in the arms of other brave knights. A Muslim's point of view: March 9, 1096 In Jerusalem, where I live, I live in fear and bloodshed. There is a war going on, and there have been too many casualties. There are men in armor outside, killing many and terrorizing the city. Killing the men, the women and their children without mercy. Robbing them blind and going through their homes. I live in fear. I live in my house with the doors barricaded, and my family close to me. I tell them, it will be alright and they say, we'll all die. We wait 'till the men in armor have broken through the door and take us away. But I know, if we die, we'll die to be in God's hands.
