You made her a promise and gave her your word Her made-up blue eyes are starting to get blurred She won't lose trust, won't give up all hope She promised herself you were late, she would cope Hours ticked by and you hadn't come Yet she would not let herself succumb Why had you smashed up all her dreams? Why had you triggered her anguishing screams? Sitting there waiting, what she shall know is How being 'dressed up with no place to go' is Rain pouring down, outside and in her heart, A sad sort of crying that tore her apart Outwardly she had pullen herself together Inwardly the haunting would be found forever She doesn't know you are with another girl That you had left her, let the truth unfurl You're a born actor, you had charmed them both There was no need for solemn promises or an oath Both were so clueless, yet one was so weak Led in a trance within your smooth technique How could you crush her, leave her on the side? How could you choose another, how did you decide? Why did you be off and throw a treasure away When you know you'll need her at the end of the day The smooth thread of trust threatens to break As she sits there so alone thinking it was her mistake She is so beautiful, if only you could see her now She put in all her effort, and then you disavow While you are there laughing and dancing with friends Her eyes are tearing up, her emotion trancends Why had you left her when she needed you most? Tears drip on her face which is white as a ghost She realizes for the first time, the truth of it all And knows now your devotion is just an enthral Sitting there waiting, what she shall know is How being dressed up with no place to go is
