Indian Ocean Tsunami (The Boxing Day Tsunami)
Could distruction in cities be minimized?
Was there a way to lower the death toll?
Could thousands of lives have been saved?

WARNING
Death could be minimized in almost every natural disaster if people got an early warning that an earthquake or tsunami was coming.
People are often un-aware that a disaster is about to happen. When the shore line draws back during a tsunami people sometimes go towards the shore line to collect fish. Thinking it more conveniant than deadly.
In large, developed cities people could get warnings on their phones through text, as well as having every possible digital sign and advertisement turn into an earthquake or tsunami warning.
In smaller, more undeveloped cities people could fly over in helicopters with signs that warn people about the disaster as well as having people in the helicopter yelling through a megaphone that a disaster is about to occur
