Why do We Laugh? (Our Hypothesis)
After that we considered the unique differences between humans and monkeys, like the amount of facial expressions we're able to make, and although there are unique differences laughter and language are linked in social groups for both humans and apes.
Then we studied about how primates started to develop a real language and used laughter to express feelings like a snort would mean disapproval or snobiness and snickering would suggest immaturity and chuckling meant kind & thoughtful. and belly laugh implied that you were trustworthy.
After we read through all the research we understood that primates used laughter to talk in the past and now humans use it to express how they feel.
Our Hypothesis Laughter was oringinally a way of speaking for earlier lifeforms , and when speaking actual words was developed laughter then became a third wheel and was used for our mere enjoyment only.
First we went and looked at many different sources to gather informationon on our topic. The three sources that we drew our hypothesis from are http://www.enlargepenisguide.com/articles/blogs/603/Why-We-Laugh http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/scilaugh.html and the book Thumbs, Toes, and Tears
How we came up with our hypothesis
''The 'ha, ha' noise of human laughter, ultimately has its origins in the ritualized panting laughter of our primate ancestors.'' - Provine
