what can happen to waves
www.tpub.com/neets/tm/30NVM027.GIF
Transverse and longitudinal : Transverse wave is a waves that it's oscillation are perpendicular, like a beach wave. Longitudinal wave is a wave that has oscillation are in the same direction as the wave moves, like a sound waves.
A wave can also be diffacted ,not only can it be diffacted but waves can change their shape when it goes though an object, this is called Refraction.
Parts of Waves
crimss.ssec.wisc.edu/.../spectrum/wavelength.html
Vocabulary. Period :the time to complete on cycle. Cycle:one repetition of motion. Frequency :is how many cycles is one second. Amplitude: is how far the wave go away from the center of the graph. Crest: is the top of the wave. Trough: is the bottom of the wave. wavelenght: is the length of one wave cycle. Diffraction: when the waves bend around the small object. Absorption: when the wave is absopted . Reflection: when the wave bounces off an object. Refraction: is the chage of the direction of a wave..
Formula s: Period: T=1/f Frequency: F=1/T
T is he symbol for time
F is the symbol for Frequency.
