When driving back from the city Daisy hits Myrtle with Gatsbys car and Kills her. Gatsby takes the blame to protect Daisy, but in turn is murdered out of anger by Myrtle's husband. Tom, who was jealous of Gatsby, betrayed Tom and told Myrtles husband that Gatsby killed his wife. In reality, it was Tom who was having an affair with Myrtle
