Muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems.
The Nervous System •The Nervous system consists of a central nervous system and a peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system is made up of the brain and spinal cord, and the periphial nervous system is made up of nerve endings and the rest of the network. Sense organs are the organs that make up your 5 senses. Sensory nerves sense things and motor nerves control the way you move. The brain and spinal cord send signals to all the nerve.
The muscular system The function of the muscular system is movement. The way that movement happens is by contraction. It is important to take care of your muscular system by excercising every day. When you over stretch your muscles you can strain them. This is also known as a pulled muscle. A sprain is when you tear a ligament that connects the muscles to the bone.
Skeletal System •The main functions of the skeletal system are to provide support for the body, and to protect internal organs. It also is a big part of being able to move. •Types of Fractures: - Transverse: a fracture that is at the right angle of the bone's axis. - Comminuted: When the bone breaks into a bunch of pieces - Hairline: A think break in a bone. •Types of Joints: - Hinge joint: a joint that moves forward and backward ex. elbow, knee, fingers. - Ball and socket joint: a joint that can move in all directions. ex. shoulder and hip. - Pivot joint: a joint that lets you turn. ex. the neck. - The last type of joint is the gliding joint. It lets bones slide on top of each other like the vertabrae on the spine. •Some health issues that associate with the skeleton are red blood cell production and having strong enough bones that dont break. To keep your bones strong you have to have enough calcium in your body.
