This is just a picture of some drums
First, you will need to know a little about drums. each drum has a drum head, which is a plastic material or fiberskin circle stretched across a drum. This is where the drum stick will hit and cause the vibrations which cause the noise. The cymbals are made of nickle, copper, and other metals. The Cymbals are either hit on the top or the edge depending on the type of cymbal or desired sound.

Every sound is produced by vibrations of an object. What the sound travels through is a medium, this can be air, water or even a solid. These vibratons will disturb the medium, and cause the molicules to vibrate back and forth. These molicules will continue to vibrate and the sound wave will pass through the medium until they are met by our ears. Our ears will then vibrate on the inside, the hammer anvil and stirrup, and then a message is passed to our brain telling us that there is a sound
Drums and cymbals make noise when the hit of a drum stick, that hit starts the vibrations that cause the medium disturbance. A cymbal will vibrate because when the stick hits it, the shock wave is distributed through the entire cymbal causing it to vibrate. The same thing occurs with the head of a drum. when these sounds are synchronized they can produce a great drum beat.
