The Cathode Ray Tube is what makes a television work. In the tv there is a phosphorus covered screen.. then there is a conductive coating in a tube that is used to attract the electrons that collect on the screen.
In the tv there is a ray, but no way to individually point the ray. So it goes to the middle of the screen, as a tiny dot.

IN the tv there is a coil that creates a magnetic field, used to attract the electron beam vertically and the other part horizontally.
Some disadvantages are it's size, weight, and how it is generally fragile. It's advantages are that it never creates a distorted picture. This fun tv costs generally costs from $119 to $179.
