Volvo had the first safety belts in 1849. Nils Bohlin's lap-and-shoulder belt was introduced by volvo in 1959.

The Drive Shaft was made in 1898, by Louis Renault.
The first HighWay U.S. 40 was the name given to the first highway. The original route, was built for house drawn wagons, it was commissioned by Thomas Jefferson. Another name they gave the highway was"National road." The highway ran through West Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana to Vandalia, IL.
