Broken Dreams
There is no point dressing the truth. It is what it is.....
Some people laugh and some people cry, But that can't erase the truth that you died, You have ruined our lives, hers, mine and yours, But that wouldn't matter to you, of course... There has never been an easy way out, Wasn’t there any doubt? Did you think of the future? No matter how hard, You took your life, was it worth just one card? You say how much you loved her before you did your deed, You didn’t know her that well did you? You didn't know where it could lead. Of course not, no you just didn't think, But how can I blame you, your mind on the blink, Now matter how hard life was yesterday, There's no way I can blame you, not ever, no way. I'd love you always and I just hope that you know, That no matter how much I wanted you to go, You should have known I didn’t mean it, you held us together, You kept her happy, whatever the weather. The only thing that is never forgiven, Is the thing that can't be re-written. You broke all your promises that day, It was never meant to turn out this way. So we’ll pretend we’re fine, Attempt to leave it all behind. We will hide all our fears, until the cover of night We can't change the things that happened in dawn's early light We can abandon this one-sided fight, Let our legs buckle, and cry all we like, When the moon is high and the stars begin to dance, I will plan for when I have that one chance,
That one wish that I never got, Rewind time; stop the gun shot.
I have to credit the genius that is my best buddy Natalie for helping with this special poem.
