Greece Education
This was the first thing the children learned when they went to school.
Boys had to go to military training in school and spent years in the army until they were 60!
School children sat in open-air class rooms and wrote on slates, while listening to their teacher. Only boys went to school. and girls stayed home and were taught by their mom or a slave.
“Education of the mind, body, and aesthetic sense is so that boys may learn to be more gentle, and harmonious, and rythmical, and so more fitted for speech and action; for the life of man in every part has need of harmony and rhythm.” Plato
“Wisdom outweighs any wealth.” Sophocles
Education is an ornament in prosperity and a refuge in adversity. – Aristotle
”Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” - Aristotle
PLATO- a famous philosopher whose philosophy was tuaght in school.
SOCRATES- another famous philosopher whose philosophy was taught in school.
