Xenon and neon gas are contained in cells between two plates of glass. The front plate is lined with display electrodes which are arranged in horizontal lines and the back plate is lined with address electrodes arranged vertically. The electrodes become ionized and an electric current runs through them causing them to light up.
Disadvantages expensive more likely to get burn-in damage have trouble showing the color black resulting in poor image quality
Plasma TVs can cost anywhere from $750 to $5,000.
