Dear Diary, Abigail and Mary have both informed me that everyone in town is beginning to suspect us of practicing witchery with Tituba. Mary wants to tell the truth to the town and say that we were only dancing in the woods with Tituba and that’s it. She say’s the worst punishment they could give us for dancing at night in the woods would be a whipping, lord only knows that the worse punishment would be having us hanged. Abigail is the only one trying to save our lives right now, Betty is in a daze and we all have no idea what is going on. Personally I think they should beat her, that way she may come out of the daze and maybe it’ll ease the suspicions. Reverend Parris saw me the night before last dancing naked in the woods according to Abigail he only saw a figure so he surely cannot suspect me. Abigail has denied everything he is suspecting hopefully he believes her and can make everyone else believe it as well. -Mercy Lewis
