Calcium
-Calcium is a very reactive element -It reacts with anything including oxygen and water, and the halogens group (group 17)
-when not exposed to oxygen calcium is a soft shiny metal -Since Calcium isvery reactive, when it is associated with oxygen Calcium becomes a cloudy gray/white color
-Majored in electrochemistry, he is widely known for discovering elements including Calcium. -Calcium origanlly got its name from the latin word Calx meaning lime, then Humphrey added -ium because this was the ending for most metallic elements.

-Since calcium is so reactive & active it is'nt found naturally on earth, instead it it usually found as a compund like limestone, chalk, marble, and coral/shells -Calcium is the 5th most common element in the eatrh's crust. -Also the 5th abundant element found in the human body

-Calcium Makes up about 2% of our body -its mostly found in our teeth&bones, -Calcium helps make become hard and resistant/long lasting -Calcium also determines the rythem of your heart beat -Having to much or not ehough can cause health issues -Calcium controls the function of other muscles&nerves in the body
