Macbeth
Plot Overview
Macbeth is a play written by the famous writer, William Shakespeare. Macbeth is tragedy play and is Shakespeares shortest tragedy play. Macbeth was written between 1603 and 1607. The earliest acounted performance of that Macbeth was in April 1611 in the Globe Theatre. Performers believe that the play is cursed therefore, they do not call it 'Macbeth' but instead, 'The Scottish Play'. The main characters are: Macbeth - Scottish genreal who is the thane of Glamis, told by three witches, he will soon become the thane of Cawdor and the King of Scotland.. Lady Macbeth - Macbeth's wife, a woman who thrives for power and wealth. She is very strong at first, convincing Macbeth to murder King Duncan but later she feels even guiltier and mad than Macbeth himself. Three witches - Three witches who plot mischief against Macbeth using spells. Their predictions tempt Macbeth in murdering King Duncan and become king himself. Other main characters: Banquo - Brave general, best friends with Macbeth. King Duncan - The current king of Scottland Macduff - Scottish nobleman Malcom - Son of Duncan
