BOOK REVIEW

Hi there! I am going to review one of the books from the Alex Rider Series! I will review...Ark Angel! This book is written in third person. Main characters: Alex Rider Nikolei Drevin Paul Drevin Jack Starbright Magnus Payne Ed Shulsky Tamara Knight First of all, Ark Angel is the 6th book from the Alex Series. This is the book that is after Scorpia where he goes and finds out about the truth about his dad and maybe his destiny? It starts off extremely fast paced and exciting. Well, As Alex is recovering in the best possible hospital, one night some gang comes in and wants to get his roomate! Alex could not watch so he decided to swap their room numbers and without the gang, knowing they chased Alex and the 14-year-old M16 agent beat down every one of them. Alex escapes and Paul Drevin (His roomate), his dad is one of the world's richest man. His Dad, Nikolei decides to invite Alex to his mansion for a recovery treat for saving Paul, his son. Soon things start to go wrong, as Alex is once again involved... As nothing goes right for Alex Rider, this time is no exception. Alex is told by the CIA that the man he is with is a criminal. He has killed many people. Soon Alex's cover is blown by Nikolei's head guard Max Payne. Nikolei tells Alex his plan then would kill him. His plan was to send the rocket up into space then, with the bomb he was going to blast the 'Ark Angel' (space hotel), that he made, right at the Pentagon. This was going to destroy all evidence of Nikolei's crime. As a result Alex had, he escape. CIA agents were waiting for Alex a couple of miles off the island. Alex had learnt kite surfing earlier and as he could find nothing else, he surfed half way and trouble started to come... Nikolei's men had caught up with their speedboats! As Alex finds out those men were not here to capture him, they were here to KILL him! He destroys two of the speedboats but as he is getting exhausted, he cannot jump anymore, he is doomed. Just as the killer was coming near, gunshots did fire but they were not at him, they were at the killer. The CIA had seen what had happened and came just in time! As the CIA storm into the island, a battle starts. Alex ties two canoes to Nikolei's seaplane. As Nikolei takes off, Nikolei makes a mistake and since he had shot his son earlier by accident, he is extremely angry and tries to kill Alex. As Nikolei turns around and goes lower, the canoes hit the forest and his plane crashes! Nikolei is dead but the bomb is still going to explode and kill everyone in Washington D.C. As CIA agent Ed Shulsky convinces Alex to go up into space to move the bomb so that it just destroys Ark Angel instead of projecting it into Washington D.C. As he gets up there he finds out that it was a trap. Kaspar was waiting for him! It was a fight between a trained astronaut with a knife versus 14 year olds first time in space, empty handed! Will Alex survive and save the world?

I thought that this book was one of those other books that I have enjoyed reading very much. I think that although the cases and the skills that Alex has are extremely unlikely, I think his stunts are still possible. This life or job is what almost every 14 year old would ever dream to be. I think that the Anthony is very good at writing these types of books. He is very imaginative yet realistic. Although he does mention nuclear bombs and others, he does not mention anything out of the world like dragons or dinosaurs. Before he does any writing, he always does a lot of research. For this book, he had mainly researched on space shuttles, rockets and astronauts. He has included any procedures, feelings and sicknesses that may happen in space. In addition, all of the Alex Rider series are tense, packed with gadgets, adventure, fun, jokes and relationships. I would recommend this book as soon as your 10. It is very interesting and may get you to start liking books! The writer uses many techniques to keep you stuck in the book and waiting for the next one! One of the best series I have ever read...

Well done Timmy. You Have made this page very interesting and have added music that matches the story line of the books!You have added some good photos and links for more information. You had already added good information on the glogster and it looks really great.

Nice Timmy, I think you have put a lot of effort into this. You chose your pictures carefully and you have described about the author and books very interestingly. I also this is a very animated book review with very creative ideas. There were links referred to the book which was really good. The music scared me at first but its really good but when it starts singing I don't think it suits the book review you're doing. You also might have been able to add a video of interviews with the author. -Justin

Timster, I dont know if other ppl noticed, but there is some kind of glitch on your photo of "Point Blanc"...it shows a picture of Anthony Horowitz instead! But I know its meant to be Point Blanc because the link goes to a wikipedia page about it, and when everything is loading (on ur glog) I can see a blurred picture of Point Blanc! Go check it urself...strange.

Dear Timmy, I thought your glog was really good, it was very well written and the layout was quite good. I liked the music you used, although it was a little irrelevant. I noticed you put a frame around "Snakehead", as it is the latest, but you could have put it around "Ark Angel", as it is the book you are reviewing. I also saw quite a few careless grammatical errors, e.g. some sentences needed commas in certain places, some sentences didn't make sense, you confused some words with similar ones...like: "the 14 year old M16 agent beat down EVERYONE of them." it should be every one of them...The most agonizing mistakes were the spelling errors! I thought the links you put on the pictures were very useful. I also thought everything was very bright and colourful, making it easier to see. Overall, an very good piece of work - this glog makes me want to read the whole series again and again!

Hey Timmy, waw thats alot of description. I think you have spent alot of effort into this glog, and added lots of eye catching pictures. However, I think the background really suits the book you are describing. + your music really shocked me when it started. -.-
