The LONG TERM AFFECTS are the languages, customs, agriculture, and food.
At the very beginning the CONQUISTADORS were percieved as great men; however, soon after killing many natives and enslaving them the invaders were hated. The CONQUISTADORS viewd the natives as nothing more than a workforce waiting to be used, and so soon after establishing rule made many of them work without pay.
Trade significantly rose due to the availability of an entire new continent to trade with. Also later on the Americas largely populated by the conquistadors became a part of the TRIANGLE TRADE.
The SHORT TERM AFFECTS were many people dying due to the diseases that the Conquistadors had brought with them, language changing, and oppression.
