Confusion tears at my heart Keeping me from myself Two star-crossed lovers Destined to part You gave up on your faith Something I thought you were incapable of Shattering my hopes and dreams This pain would be easier if I could hate I could never hate you in this life time Needing you is some what of a necessity Living would be easier if I could tear away This haze could fade and the sun would finally shine But the forecast calls for something great Heavy rains and massive flooding Lonely tears fall, flowing downstream Flooding my heart at a steady rate Overflowing with hurt and confusion The levees start to crack and break A few more inches and it'll be the worst Wiping out any solution There is no hope now No one is coming to the rescue All this work is futile If I'm wrong show me how So I will tear down my walls Leaving myself open and bare My heavily flooded heart will run dry Having my love for you fade and fall Starting myself completely new I try to build myself back up Searching for the perfect protection Something that works better against you Truth is my perfect protection And love for some one else Knowing that I hold the truth Is worth more than your affection.
