Manny Ramirez is a famous baseball player. He originates from the dominican Republic but still plays in American league baseball Just like hundreds of other baseball players from the Dominican Republic.
An interesting fact about the Dominican Republic is that it was the first European settlement of the americas. It was found by Christopher columbus. He and his crew landed right into what is now Santo Domingo. The very first hospital, university, and Cathelic cathedral of the Americas was built there.

Another famous person from the Dominican Republic is the rapper John David Jackson [Fabolous]. He is 32 years old and was born in Brooklyn New York but is family half Dominican. He has made many top songs in the past couple years and still does. He is one of my favorite singers.
