Endangered Species: Grey Wolf Canis lupus
Was first listed as an Endangered Species on 3/11/1967
Wolves are making a comeback in the Great Lakes, Northern Rockies and Southwestern United States
Around the world, there is an estimated 200,000 in 57 countries, compared to the previous 2 million population.
The Grey Wolf's most common threat and cause of death is due to their conflict with humans over livestock losses. Peoples fear and misunderstanding of the grey wolf is the main cause of their addition to the Endangered Species list.
