There was lot's of time to fill in between these two trips, so me and my brother did lot's of minor activities during our 6 week break like short bike rides, running, going to Calaway park, swimming, and practicing guitar and drums. I ran a total of 20 kilometers or 20 000 meters over the whole summer, running at 4 different times. This means I ran 5 kilometers or 500 000 centimeters each time i got on the treadmill. I also enjoyed going to Calaway park. I went on a total of 10 rides with my friend Quinn and my brother for a total of 4 hours of wholesome, exciting fun. After that, we went to the gift shop. I bought some Jones carbonated candy for $3.25 and some pop rocks for $0.75. Andrew and Quinn bought water guns packed with candy for 2 dollars each. The total came to $8 or $4 056.55 Chilean Pesos. Overall, had a blast in my downtime this summer. Craving an adrenaline packed ride now? Check out the Calaway park website for more info. http://www.calawaypark.com/
This year we busied oursleves with a trip to London, England. The 13 day or 312 hour trip was stellar! Our 9 1/2 hour trip their was kind of boring, so me and my brother busied ourselves with movies like School of Rock and The Truman Show (see trailers). I watched School of rock 5 times and the Truman Show 2 times, so over the whole course of the trip, we watched 1024 minutes or 17 hours of movies! One of many highlights was the 02. It is a massive 365 metre in diameter stadium that 18,000 double decker buses could fit into. Micheal Jackson was supposed to be performing there, but he passed away. So we saw walking with the dinosaures, and adventure back in time talking about the survival and extincion of dinosaurs. I sat in seat 674, level 4. Also, on a sunny day, we went for a trip on the london eye. It wasn't very fast, only travelling 0.9 kilometres per hour, but the view was spectacular. One rotation on the london eye is 30 minutes. And last but not least, Harrod's! Harrod's is probably one of the most famous department stores in the world. You can not go to London without seeing this place. We spent 4 hours in Harrod's and bought about $100 worth of stuff, but most of the merchandise at the department store is too expensive. Wish you were in London now? Before London, we went on a camping trip on the lower kananaskis campground. It took up a total of 3 days or 72 hours. We went on a fabulous hike from the Boulton Trading Post to the Fire Lookout. We trudged a total of 16.6 kilometres over the course of 2 hours. The elevation gain was 418m and the summit was 2118m..The scenery was breathtaking! Walking back down was certainly easier, as it only took up 1 1/2 hours. We refreshed after the hike with an ice cream. In total i had 3 ice creams. The other amsuing thing during this trip was practicing my slingshot skills. I hit the cardborad target 12 times. Overall this camping trip was a memorable one!
